Landrum Family Establishes Their Fourth Scholarship at UWF

The University of West Florida recently received a $25,000 gift from Britt Landrum III and Britt Landrum Jr. to establish the Landrum Family Foundation scholarship endowment. A check presentation was held on March 25 at LandrumHR in downtown Pensacola.

“Investment in education earns exponential rewards for us all,” said Britt Landrum III, CEO LandrumHR. “Motivated and enthusiastic students become star professionals and vibrant community leaders. The Landrum Family Foundation is pleased to make this contribution to support the future of the HR profession, especially here in Pensacola where our company was founded more than 50 years ago.”

The gift will support College of Business students in the human resources management program. The Landrum family and LandrumHR are ardent supporters of the University of West Florida.

“The Landrum family has helped UWF students earn their degrees for many years,” said Howard Reddy, Vice President of University Advancement. “This latest gift continues that legacy in the very important area of human resources. We are very grateful.”

This is the fourth scholarship established at UWF by the Landrum family. For more than 30 years, the family has gifted $114,000 in scholarship funding to the University. They established the Nell D. & H. Britt Landrum Jr Scholarship, providing support to nontraditional students entering or returning to pursue their degree five years after high school graduation. The family also provided funding to endow the Dan McLeod Memorial Scholarship and later established the Denise McLeod Memorial Scholarship to honor her retirement from LandrumHR. Both of the McLeod scholarships provide support for students with physical disabilities.
