A large manufacturing company in Pensacola is in need of a full-time Fabricator / Machinist to join their team. The Fabricator Machinist position will be responsible for operating machinery to produce fabrications and repair parts, tools and equipment using sketches, prints or instruction manuals. This individual will be accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines within the department. The Fabricator Machinist will also be responsible for machining to tolerances up to +/- . 001". Work from simple sketches, verbal instructions and fabricate similar or modified tooling / fixturing utilizing existing engineering drawings/sketches. You Are:


*Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
*Ability to program CNC plasma cutter, perform equipment set-up and operate equipment in a production environment.
*Proven experience performing various welding/fabrication techniques, equipment operation or similar
*Ability to set up and operate any welding machines to prescribed parameters.
*Proficient in the use of machining equipment (manual mill, manual lathe).
*Mig/Tig Aluminum.
*Mig/Tig Stainless Steel.
*Mig/Tig Mild steel.
*Oxy/Acetylene setup and operation.
*Proficient use of hand tools and power tools.
*Proficient in the use of manual/hydraulic sheet metal press brake.
*Proficient in the use of hand drills, grinders, drill press, other basic shop tools.
*Proficient in the use of all measuring instruments (tape measure, scale, caliper, micrometer, indicator).
*High attention to detail.
*Ability to understand and choose proper tooling and operation.
*Respect for safe work practices.
*Demonstrated history of performing quality work.
*Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
*Must be able to work cooperatively in a fast-paced team environment.
*Must be reliable and willing to work as necessary to meet requirements of position, including overtime and weekend work.
*Ability and willingness to work any shift.
*Ability to interpret engineering drawings and create fabrications according to specification.
*Ability to create custom fixtures/jigs using own intuition and experience.
*Ability to properly operate all fab shop equipment including but not limited to grinders, plasma table, drill press, punch machine, band saw, etc.
*Ability to communicate effectively with Manufacturing Engineers.
*Ability to work to a schedule and meet established project deadlines.
*Must become certified on all weld equipment (mig, stick) necessary to perform the job.
*Operate all welding and fabrication equipment on-site, adhering to all site safety policies.
*Perform basic safety inspections of welding and fabrication equipment.
*Develop and create custom jigs and fixtures for use in supporting production.
*Fulfill job requirements as assigned by PSA supervisor.
*Provide input and feedback necessary to improve fabrication designs.
*Monitor oxygen, acetylene, and mixed gas usage to ensure adequate inventory levels.
*Maintain integrity with daily inspections and report damage of welding equipment to PSA supervisor.
*Maintain proper housekeeping of work area.
*Monitor material stock and request reorder as necessary.

You Have:


*A high school diploma or GED.
*3+ years welding experience.
*Machine Tool Technology Degree (preferred).
*Welding Certificate (preferred).
*3+ years’ experience Machining and/or Fabricating including milling machines, lathe, bench grinders, band saws.
*3+ years fabricating experience including Mig / Tig welding with aluminum, mild and stainless steel, material ability to use plasma cutter.
* Valid driver’s license.
* Strong Mechanical aptitude.
*Strong Mechanical aptitude.
*Must be self-directed.
*Ability to communicate effectively, work cooperatively within a team setting, and be able to understand, comprehend and follow directions in the workplace.

Compensation and Schedule:

This position is full-time and pays $16. 50 per hour with pay progressions. This position is working first shift, 6:00am – 2:30pm., Monday – Friday. Must be able to work overtime and occasional weekend if needed.
