The City of Milton is in need of a Full-Time Utility Service Technician III to join their team. Check out the description below to see if this position sounds like a great fit for you!

You Enjoy:

*Digging ditches to install and repair pipes, valves, fittings and setting meters.
*Operating mowers, chain saws, weed eaters, hand picks, shovels, brooms, rakes, pitch forks, pruners, and other miscellaneous hand tools.
*Performing heavy manual labor.
*Working outdoors under variable weather conditions.
*Responding/assisting with afterhours call outs.

Job Responsibilities:

*Perform all tasks of a Utility Service Technician I, and Utility Service Technician II (Gas).
*Installs and repairs to gas mains, services, valves, regulators, regulator stations, and meters.
*Operates backhoe, trencher, other types of excavating equipment, trucks, and various other power tools.
*Operate all testing equipment used in maintenance and operations of the natural gas distribution system, including but not limited to, gas leaks, cathodic protection, odorization.
*Perform heavy manual labor with little direct supervision.
*Trouble-shoots the gas system, making routine and emergency repairs.
*Tests and makes repairs in regards to corrosion control and leak detection.
*Works outdoors under variable weather conditions and risks.
*Responds to call outs.
*Learns the safety practices in working with natural gas.
*Effectively communicates with other employees and the general public.
*Perform other duties as assigned.

You Have:

*A High school diploma or equivalent.
*Two years of natural gas distribution systems, installing, repairing, and maintaining lines, services, valves, meters, and regulators.
*A valid State of Florida driver’s license. After 12-week period, you will be required to obtain a Class “A” CDL with “N” endorsement.
*Physical requirements: Sufficient strength to perform manual labor.
*The City of Milton is nicotine/tobacco free. You must be nicotine/tobacco free for a minimum of 6 months to qualify

Compensation and Schedule:

*This position is full-time and pay is based on experience.
*Hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a. m. to 4 p. m

Assignment Type:

This assignment is considered Contract and is expected to last 12 weeks or will be determined by the client’s needs.
