*Analyzing and conducting technical research for supply requests.
*Researching National Stock Numbers (NSN) and part numbers with Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs), technical manuals, publications, schematics and use of automated systems (FEDLOG) to ensure compatibility with current equipment to fill operational requirements.
*Checking for material availability through Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), General Services Administration (GSA), and Department of the Navy supply channels through use of Military Standard Request and Issue Program (MILSTRIP).
*Submitting material requisition orders through the Navy Supply System using MILSTRIP or non-standard requisitions.
*Loading and unloading material deliveries by hand or by forklift, depending upon the weight and configuration of the delivery.
*Receiving and inspecting shipments of supplies for correct quantity and damage, process receipts in automated database (Excel) against outstanding supply requisitions.
*Documenting all discrepant material shortages/damage or losses of material in accordance with NAVSUP P-485.
*Maintaining receipt and issue files and correspondence
*Maintaining other systems of record in accordance with the NAVSUP P-485.
*Recommending to the Designated Government Representative (DGR), high limits and low limits for inventory based on historical data, and length of lead-time required for receipt of incoming material.
*Receiving and answering routine telephone inquiries regarding related matters.
*Maintaining a 95% level of accountability on material receipts, issues and shipments in accordance with NAVSUP P-485.
*Consolidating trouble calls from building managers, and initiate and track work orders with 96th Civil Engineering Group (96CEG) and assign work order numbers for internal (NAVSCOLEOD) actions.
*Maintaining logbooks and Excel databases for internal (NAVSCOLEOD) and external (96CEG) work orders.
*Preparing labels, nametags, and signs from a variety of material (i. e. plastic, brass, etc.) upon request using a computer operated engraver.
*Highly motivated and intuitive with what needs to be done
*Organized and have an eye for detail
*Able to communicate well both verbally and in writing
*An active secret security clearance
*Valid Driver License
*A knowledge of basic military supply skills in material issue, storage, receipt, inventory and shipping
*Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Microsoft ACCESS, Government-owned equipment technical manuals and Material Owners Maintenance manuals, specifications and other courses of action to perform research and analysis work related to Naval Supply System functions.
*Basic computer skills to include data processing and proper correspondence
*Knowledge and the ability to operate a forklift
*Minimum of 3 years of DOD Supply experience which includes procurement methods such as GSA
Compensation and Schedule:
*This position is full-time and pays $25. 82 per hour
*Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m.
