Don't be Scared! 3 All Hallow's Eve Job Search Tips

by Kristy Dolihite, on October 31, 2017

Fear can be a major factor between where you are in a career and where you would like to be. You are not alone.  Fear is a normal response to impending change.  Do not let fear turn into inactivity and paralysis.  Take the fear out of your job search for a new career with the following tips:

Determine What the Risks Are
Think of every scenario involving your career change, and then ask yourself “What is the worst that can happen?”  Remember, most of the things we fear will not actually happen.  You can examine each fear and break them down, one by one, into small tasks and weigh out the risks.

Live in the Present
Do not fixate on the future or the past.  Do not obsess on what has gone wrong or could go wrong.  Instead, plan and move forward.

Failure Does not have to be Negative!
Failing at something does not have to be a bad thing.  You can use the experiences as a learning tool.  What would you do differently in the future?  Does that change what career you are interested in?  Use failure to improve and you will find success.
